- Indoor Kids Attraction
Petrosains KLCC is an indoor children friendly attraction in Suria KLCC, making it a great place to escape to during rainy days and hot weather. You and your kids can comfortably explore the displays and interactive exhibits, enjoying hands-on learning experiences at your own pace in a safe indoor environment.
- Cafe Mesra
There is a Cafe Mesra in Petrosains for some refreshments, pastries, coffee, and snacks where families can hang out for a quick bite.
- Seasonal Activities Station
Petrosains often hosts seasonal and themed activities such as special interactive stations for play and learning during festive periods.
We went during the recent Chinese New Year holidays and Little E got to experience making music on a digital piano screen by tapping on some oranges.
- Science Show
Catch a live science show at Petrosains KLCC which demonstrates exciting principles in physics, chemistry, and energy. With, children get to see science in action with dynamic presentations and audience participation in mini experiments.
- Something For Kids Of Different Ages
For families with children of varying ages, Petrosains KLCC has over 170 interactive exhibits designed to engage toddlers to teenagers. Each exhibit is thoughtfully designed for learning and fun, so younger children can explore safely while older kids enjoy more challenging activities.
- Family Friendly Facilities
There are family-friendly facilities for parents and caregivers in Petrosains including nursing rooms for changing babies or breastfeeding, stroller-friendly routes, bench seating for resting, and a dedicated prayer room so that families with young children can enjoy the Discovery Centre comfortably.
- Tall Sliding Tube
There is a long and tall sliding tube, located just after the Speed zone and before Cafe Mesra for adventurous older kids and teens to explore.
Exhibits At Petrosains KLCC By Section
- Energy Capsule
The Energy Capsule is an 11‑minute seated ride that serves as an introduction to energy and resources. It is designed to simulate a journey through Malaysia’s landscapes and natural resources with sound, visuals and motions related to it. We skipped this part this round as Little E is currently not too fond of dark areas.
- Sparkz
Sparkz is one of the most interactive areas in Petrosains, great for younger kids. We spent the most time in this section.
Little E enjoyed the Nifty Fish exhibit where he designed his own digital fish on a touchscreen and watched it swim in a virtual aquarium.
One of the highlights of Petrosains for Little E was operating a mini excavator.
He had a go at the Turntable Spinner table, tested the effects of wind using paper helicopters in a wind tube, and shooting colourful paint on a screen using cannons.
There are also projected interactive screens on the floor and walls including a football game zone.
Check out TotSpot, a small indoor play area with foam building blocks and a colouring station for kids below 4.
- Hello, AI!
The Hello AI section showcases the world of artificial intelligence. It showcases how AI works, its real‑world applications, and how it is shaping the future of technology in everyday life.
Children can check out exhibits that break down complex concepts like machine learning, pattern recognition, and smart systems in a visually fun way.
- Oil Rig Platform
The Oil Platform zone replicates aspects of an offshore oil rig setup where you can explore the mechanics of oil extraction and production.
A highlight here is the drone simulator, where kids can virtually pilot a drone for an interactive learning experience.
- Speed!
The Speed! section is a favourite especially among boys and dads who love fast cars and motorsports.
This was one of Little E’s favourite sections as he loves cars and was delighted to see a Formula 1 car on display along with real racing tyres and gear components.
There is also a popular reaction stick game where you can have a go to test your physical reflex. Older kids and adults can experience what it feels like to become a Formula 1 driver through racing simulations.
- Molecule Nano World
Molecule Nano World introduces children to the concept of nanotechnology and chemistry. Kids can enjoy colouring their own tree or robot and scanning it onto an interactive screen, where it comes to life digitally.
- Sustainable Gallery
The Sustainable Gallery focuses on environmental awareness and green living. At this exhibit, you can power up a “green city” through interactive screen games. It highlights eco-friendly food choices and farming practices through engaging displays.
- 3D Theatre
You can watch a short 20 minute show at the 3D Theater for an immersive cinematic experience. Equipped with 3D glasses, the theatre presents educational films on scientific topics and gives you and your kids the opportunity to feel it visually and real.
- Tech Lab
Tech Lab is perfect for those who are interested in robotics and modern innovation. Little E had fun programming a talking robot and observing some robotic arms in action.
There are also virtual reality stations using VR headgear for older teens and adults.
- Space
The Space section explores life beyond Earth where you can experience a wind simulator, control a Mars rover, and ride a manned maneuvering unit used by astronauts.
The interactive displays give insight into space travel, survival in space, and planetary exploration.
- Geotime Diorama
The Geotime Diorama is a dinosaur land that showcases prehistoric life and geological history. This is one of the top dinosaur attractions in Klang Valley to bring your kids if they are in their dino era. Life-sized dinosaur models and detailed landscapes help the kids to imagine Earth millions of years ago. The exhibits explain evolution, fossil formation, and Earth’s changing environment in an engaging way.
- Makers Studio
The Makers Studio, for children aged 8 and above with a separate charge, offers hands-on creative workshops. Participants can build, design, and experiment with guided STEM-based projects. Check out this add – on section if your children love personalized learning experiences.

To enjoy a relaxed experience, it is best to visit Petrosains KLCC on a weekday, preferably in the morning or early afternoon. When it is less crowded, kids get to explore the interactive exhibits more comfortably without feeling rushed. Weekends, school holidays, and public holidays tend to be much busier, which may result in longer queues for popular sections.
- Combine with other KLCC attractions
As Petrosains is located in Suria KLCC, you can easily plan a full day out in the area including exploring KLCC Park, Aquaria KLCC, and watching the Lake Symphony fountain show at night. You can also visit the Observation Deck and Skybridge at the Petronas Twin Towers, for a complete KLCC experience.

How long does it take to visit Petrosains KLCC?
Our family spent about 2 hours there, but if you plan to try the Energy Capsule, 3D Theatre, science shows, and fully explore the interactive sections, it’s better to allocate about 2.5 to 4 hours. Families with younger children may move at a slower pace, with more breaks in between.
